We are in Guangzhou!

We woke up at 5 and left our hotel at 7. Caitie did great on the way to the airport. She fell asleep in the front pack as we got off the bus and checked in. At security they made me take her out, which I expected, but it woke her up. Then they made us jump through a bunch of hoops. It seems in China, there is no rhyme or reason to what or how they check. Another couple in our group had a ton of trouble leaving Beijing with their laptop and camera stuff and this is their 4th Chinese adoption and they had never had problems with their technology items before.

Anyway, we made it to our gate and even had time to use Western toilets, ie; no squattie pottie!! :) we were thrilled that our flight was leaving on time, a rarity for this particular flight.

Caitie was over it by the time the plane started to taxi to the runway. We gave her a bottle at take off and we thought she might go to sleep, ummm no!! She cried the whole flight. It really is no big deal except that it really freaks us a bit about our looooonnnngggg trip home. After crying on the plane, she cried on the bus.

We finally got in to our room and are just chilling. We are enjoying the air conditioning and the room to spread out. David walked to McDonald's for dinner and baby girl ate 9 chicken nuggets. Now she is exhausted and we are just keeping her up a bit longer.

Here are some pictures of our diggs and our sweet girl!!

  1. There is a new couple at our church who have a little girl named Robyn. She is Caitlyn (at four) Mom said "puffs" a rice cake-like treat was very helpful on their flight home. Robyn has one more surgery for her palate. I told them all about our Caitlyn We were all smiling. The prayer team prayed with me today for a safe journey home. Love you all. GOD BLESS
